The soffit is the panel underneath it, closing off the gap between the wall and the roof edge. The guttering carries rainwater off the roof and away from the building. When timber boards start to rot, flake or sag, when you can see gaps where birds are getting into the roof space, or when the guttering overflows, leaks at the joints or has pulled away from the wall. Streaking down the brickwork under the gutter line is the usual giveaway. Older timber fascias in Rugby and Coventry generally need replacing once painting stops holding them together, and swapping to UPVC means no more repainting.

We take off the old guttering and boards, check the rafter feet underneath for rot and treat or replace anything that needs it, then fit new fascias, soffits and guttering with proper falls so the water actually runs to the downpipe. Most houses are finished in a day or two, and we take all the old material away with us.
